The inexistent survey
One of the requirements for my dissertation is that I have to carry out a short survey quoting the main findins on the topic I am going to deal with. This is supposed to allow give the readers a background of the topic but also give them tools so that they can determine the importance of my contribution.

Well, my supervisor had told me no-one had done what I had tried. It seems to be true: there are only a few PAGES in a single article on the subject. Or did he mean no-one had tried with that database?

So... does it mean I can write in my dissertation "No survey is provided because my supervisor (distinguished Prof. Such and Such) told me I'm the first one" ?

Given that I don't think that is possible I have attempted several times to look for articles. Sounds easy right? Far away are the neverending searches in the library's cardboxes, book by book. Jstor and other journal compilations make our lives easier. Except when there doesn`t seem to be ANY paper on the topic.

*What am I supposed to do?????*

Given that I feel completely frustrated (not to mention &%$*) because of my fruitless search,

I cannot imparcially rate Economics over anything today.

Meaning scores stay the same.
